Labanauskas Leads The 2007 Larry Brand Trophy Series

31 May 2007

31 MAY 2007 ? Iggy and Andy Labanauskas are currently leading the 2007 Larry Brand Trophy Series after three events. The competition is stiff as ten boats have already met the two-event participation criteria prior to the Nationals in August.

Only a short two weeks out, Crystal Lake's Blue Water Regatta on June 16th and 17th where already attendance is at fourteen entries.

With Iggy leading the charge on the scoreboard with 257 points, the tide is destined to change as Bill Wiggins and his wife Angie follow closely with 224 points and Bill Fauntleroy and Tommy Clough are in third with 204 points. Racing is set to become more regionalized as the heart of the sailing season is ramping up.

As we fine tune the rules for the series competition, we are adding one small change; in recognition of the effort and commitment to the development at large, all boats are awarded ten points for each event they attend. Here are the current standings:

1.) IGGY LABANAUSKAS = 257
2.) BILL WIGGINS = 224
3.) BILL FAUNTLEROY = 204
4.) KEN WRUK = 201
5.) BRIAN MCMURRAY = 186
6.) BLAINE UNICUME = 131
7.) MARK MARANAKOS = 124
8.) BOB HEATHCOTE = 124
9.) BOB WYNKOOP = 77
10.) KEITH BRAND = 77
