It's Not Too Late Plan To Attend The Melges 17 Midwinter Championship

5 February 2009

It is not too late to make plans to attend the Melges 17 Midwinter Regatta in Lake Eustis, FL. This regatta offers many special opportunities and events you won't find at any other regatta.

Melges Performance Sailboats has again brought fantastic sponsorship to the event. March 12th at 12 noon Zenda University, which is a half-day training session with the very Best begins!  It includes on the water video taping, practice drills, starts and mark roundings and coaching from Andy Burdick.

There will be a debriefing afterwards with beer and snacks (provided by Latis Yachting Solutions) so that all those silly mistakes we make will not be repeated during the regatta.March 13 and 14 we are aiming for four races each day!!!! When do you get that much time racing in the sunshine???  March 15 our aim will be to get in two additional races.

A ten race regatta....when have you gotten that much racing for the $$$$?Each day there will be a "press conference" with the day's winners where they will talk about what made them fast enough to do well that day.  Also, what their plans are for the next day.  All will be revealed to make you faster!  Beer and snacks again provided by Latis Yachting Solutions.

SLAM has signed on a as a major sponsor this year and all trophies will be SLAM bags or gear.  SLAM clothing and goods will be on sale throughout the event with a % of the proceeds going to the regatta costs and the fleet.  Check out their gear at

Latis Yachting Solutions, another great sponsor, has worked up an incredible deal full of holiday savings for moving your Melges 17 south to compete at Midwinters and/or transporting back to Charleston or to the Midwest.
